Having problems keeping user versions up to date?

If you are not using software such as Application Launcher probably the most commonly asked question by your customer support is "Which version are you using?" And the answer is always the wrong one. How do you keep versions up to date?

Here's a simple solution. The program is designed to simplify your life as a system administrator when it comes to distributing new versions of your application (as a single executable, or as a set of files) across multiple workstations.

It has proved very useful to us by (almost) automatically distributing application updates across many workstations. We hope it is as useful to you.

There are two versions:
Freeware/Demo which requires you to manually set up the application launch shortcut and paths on the individual's desktop. You must physically create the shortcut. Any modifications to paths or server destinations you must do by hand. It's not difficult, just tedious. And it has no settable options. It also cannot handle UNC mappings. Source paths must be mapped to a Drive letter.

The FULL Version creates shortcut files automatically, provides tools for updating paths, has several options for (not) warning about new versions and optionally creates a backup of the executable being replaced. It can also handle UNC paths (e.g. \\gwacc\c") and includes the ability to update multiple files from multiple sources. The version you initially download is time limited to 30 days.

At the end of the 30 days it will revert to the Freeware/Demo version's functionality. However, if you buy it, we will send you the registration code to remove the time limitation. Registration costs US$19.99, you'll find it's well worth the money. Registered users will receive

ApplicationLauncher is NOT an Installation routine or installation builder. We assume that you will install the application as a separate exercise. However, if your application is a single executable then this program will act as an installer.
